The Smashing Pumpkins é uma banda de rock alternativo de Chicago, Illinois formada em 1987. A banda passou por diversas mudanças de integrantes ao longo do tempo, mas durante a maior parte de sua carreira, assim como na maioria dos créditos em seus álbuns, foram compostos por Billy Corgan (vocal/guitarra), James Iha (guitarra/backing vocal), D'arcy Wretzky (baixo) e Jimmy Chamberlin (bateria). Alcançou o mainstream com o álbum Siamese Dream (1993) e seu sucessor, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995), chegando a ocupar o primeiro lugar na Billboard. Brigas internas, problemas com drogas e a baixa venda de álbuns fez a banda entrar em hiato em 2000. O grupo se reuniu novamente em 2006 apenas com Billy Corgan e Jimmy Chamberlin da formação original e novos integrantes.
