Nothing are a four-piece shoegaze band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that formed in 2011. Nothing's main founding member was Dominic Palermo, who previously played in bands such as Horror Show and XO Skeletons. Their current bassist, Nick Bassett, was previously in Deafheaven and also is a main member of Whirr, who they just put out a split with. A good way to describe Nothing is shoegaze played by an ex-hardcore/punk band. Which, in a way, that's what their background is. Nothing have an energy to them that goes beyond the exclusive droning of shoegaze, but still incorporate that full, ethereal guitar sound with gentle vocals coated in reverb. Their full-length, Guilty Of Everything, has to be heard by anyone into Whirr, Cloakroom, and bands of that nature. Also, thanks so much to Jacob Shumaker for the help with this post. Enjoy.
